The Maglite
Pin the Prior with your torch and it screams away — but batteries drain in the cold. Candlelight recharges you when patience holds.

The black monks walk the corridors again.
They have no faces.

The Call
You are PC Tony Hayward, answering a night call from The Bell Hotel — where wax, old rain, and something in a tattered black habit waits in the dark.
The Faceless Prior is a PS1-style first-person horror game built for the browser: low-res dread, compressed audio, candlelit safe zones, and an unkillable entity that glides until your Maglite finds its hood.
Explore the coaching inn, Thetford Priory, Castle House tunnel, Castle Hill, and the round church. Decode the monks’ cipher. Survive the reality flip. Descend into the crypt — if the bell doesn’t catch you first.
Survive the night
Pin the Prior with your torch and it screams away — but batteries drain in the cold. Candlelight recharges you when patience holds.
Light brass candlesticks with matches. The warm glow is sanctuary — the Faceless Prior cannot enter the light.
Turn around and it’s there. A tolling bell marks its approach. Seething static where a face should be. It does not walk — it glides.
Collect stone fragments and TV glyphs. Your notebook only opens in candlelight. EARTH + BLOOD opens what the brothers sealed.
Touch the altar and the cloister rebuilds. Crimson sky. Reversed chant. The horror lingers in the restored stone.
Roger Bigod in Castle House. John Howard in the round church. Listen before they drift away into the fog.
